Texas Project First was created by parents, for parents. This web site is a project of the Texas Education Agency and is committed to providing accurate and consistent information to parents & families of students with disabilities.

The Legal Framework is a template that summarizes state and federal requirements for special education by topic. It empowers those who use it to be able to provide to every child the benefits of a free appropriate public education. The Legal Framework includes an A-Z index, frameworks, a glossary of special education terms and acronyms, links to statutes, citations, websites, guidance and resources. Multiple features are translated into Spanish; however, legal citations reflect English only.
